How does linking groups work?

Group linking, or we could also call it group grouping, is a functionality that is used to merge groups within a course that you want to work together in certain ways.

What does it mean?

That linkage allows multiple groups to function as one at some of its levels.

Currently this functionality is only available for open courses. This is because the links are now only used to make dates in multiple groups available in a single offer.

Example

If a client is registered for a Yoga course, but you have a split offer for multiple groups: Mondays at 9:00 am and Wednesdays at 6:00 pm, linking will allow them to choose dates from both the Monday and Wednesday groups.

In order to be able to use this functionality you need to make the appropriate settings. See the Linking Groups manual for the full procedure on how to do this.

You’ll definitely benefit from linking groups even if you’re using a voucher product. Clients in such linked groups can pay for the dates from one voucher.

How to create voucher can be found in the documentation.
